This is the view fro my window o Sunday. Those black blobs are police officers. Dozens of them. They were breaking up fights between Pro Israel and Pro Palestine groups. Some men were thrown on the cold pavement and handcuffed. It was a surreal birds-eye view.

Arcane Matters, the printer version, came today. Bittersweet. Weird how iPhoto reverses everything. The title is not backward in real life.

My running partners. Note Avery's socks. They must be outside our she will keep pulling her pants up to see the cat and say "meow." They also get a blanket and then we are good to go. It takes us, oh, twenty minutes to get everything in order to g out for a run.

These are my legs and what I love about this picture is that it looks like you could drive a truck through my thighs. Rest assured that one can't drive a truck through my thighs. It is a crazy optical illusion.

Do I look like Annie Lebovitz? Ha. She did some great self portraits, including a semi nude pregnant one. Can you imagine being her? Or having a portrait shot by her? Alas, I don't even dream that because I have a better shot winning a 100 million dollar lottery. But wow what a dream. This is maybe a cop-out: Classic bathroom mirror self-portrait. End of a productive day.

Plans with friends fell through when friend fell ill. So it was a morning of bulk shopping in the great state of New Jersey. And an afternoon of not much.

Cold, lazy start to the new year. Pancake breakfast and lemon spaghetti for dinner (new recipe; was awful). In between, reading, napping and Scrabble. Feeling hopeful about 2009, tentatively so. Picture taken with computer camera while laying in bed after putting the girls to sleep.
